Spring rains, high water tables and clogged gutters often bring flooded basements. A sump pump is an automatic water pump installed in a pit below grade (below the basement floor) to remove ground water from under and around basement floors. One of the most important functions of sump pumps is to protect basements from flooding. In addition, by routinely removing ground water, a sump pump reduces the possibility of the basement floors cracking and shifting from the water pressure. The basement area stays drier and feels less humid.

$575.00 Installed	The SS-57A 7-year warranty sump pump is a quiet, dependable, oil-filled sump pump. This pump incorporates a 1/3HP shaded pole motor with a long history of durable and reliable performance. The cornerstone of all Stevens Pumps quality including the SS-57A is the pressure diaphragm switch system. This system utilizes a unique air trap design that completely isolates the switch from the harsh sump environment, keeping the switch clean, dry and highly reliable. In addition, the switch is completely enclosed within the unit itself so that no moving parts are vulnerable to tangling, debris or damage during installation. Efficient corrosion inhibitors in the electrical housing ensure that all electrical components stay clean and reliable for many years.
A modern side intake will never pull debris from the bottom. This style of intake dramatically reduces clogging and jamming from small stones and debris that settle to the bottom of all sump pits. The SS-57A was designed to easily pass 1/4" solids and remain clog free. This means lint is no longer an issue. The SS-57A is still further protected by a state of the art polyester resin powder coating. All cast iron exposed to the harsh sump environment is protected by this modern fusible powder coating. This new type of coating results in no V.O.C.s (Volatile Organic Compounds) released to the atmosphere. The SS-57A boasts a very high capacity, 180 cycles per hour. That equates to 3 times a minute!
